Credit and Collections Coordinator

MNP is currently representing a Toronto based company in their search for a Credit and Collections Coordinator.  In a marketplace where many companies are shrinking or cutting back, we are proud to be representing a growing and successful Canadian organization in this search.

Working in a small but fast paced accounting department, the Credit & Collections Coordinator will be responsible for the credit granting to clientele and for the collections process, which ultimately drives the cash flow of the operations.  The role is one that requires a great deal of finesse and people skills as the interaction, both internal and external to the organization, is broad and deep.

Reporting to the Controller, this role, located in Toronto, will be responsible for:

  • Processing credit applications, including authorizing credit approval and any special payment terms
  • Reviewing contracts and invoicing for accuracy
  • Initiating collection calls and follow up calls with clients on a regular basis
  • Data entry into the ACCPAC system
  • Issuing statements to customers
  • Cash Applications
  • Preparing sales rep monthly commission reports
  • Completing month and year end journal entries and reports

To be considered for this role you will bring the following tangible attributes to the table:

  • A university or college education with a focus on accounting
  • Pursuit of a CMA, CGA or FCI designation is an asset but not required
  • 5 years of Credit and Collections experience in a commercial credit/collections department
  • Exposure to database/CRMs is a highly desired asset
  • Strong ( high intermediate to advanced) MS Excel skills
  • Experience working with an ACCPAC is considered an asset
