
Aboriginal people are starting new businesses at an amazing rate. Over the past 25 years, the number of self-employed Aboriginal people has jumped from 7,000 to more than 30,000 - which is four times the national average growth rate. Getting solid training to help their business get off the ground can be a major challenge.
Aboriginal Entrepreneur Training is a fully funded program designed to assist Aboriginals start a new business and provide them with the tools to succeed. The 15 sessions, held evenings 6:00pm - 9:00pm one day per week, are delivered by MNP’s experienced consultants and includes management training, business plan assistance and networking support.
Training workshops cover 15 topics spanning five core areas of business:
1. Business and Strategic Planning
2. Marketing and Market Research
3. Financial Management
4. Operations and Risk Management
5. Human Resource Management
This program is intended for interested individuals or small business owners from the urban Calgary and Edmonton areas. You will learn how to develop and complete a business plan, and to enhance your capacity in small business fundamentals and/or professional development. There is no cost for participation.
